This vehicle was the only 30cwt truck built in the United Kingdom during WW II. Derived from the 3-ton WOT6 but having a shorter wheelbase, the Fordson WOT-8 30cwt, was among the early deliveries to Russia in 1942. Utilized primarily as a cargo truck, the WOT-8 would also be used to tow a 17 pounder Anti-tank gun.

Ford V-8, petrol - 3.62 litres capacity.
Maximum BHP: 85 @ 3,800 R.P.M. Max. torque: 1,800 lb./ins.@ 2,000 r.p.m.
Gearbox:
Main, 4-forward, 1 reverse.
Transfer case ratios, direct and 2.42 to 1
Overall ratios forward (high): 42.6 to 1, 20.6 to 1, 11.25 to 1 and 6.66 to 1
Suspension:
Front and rear semi-elliptical
Overall Dimensions:
Length: 16' 8 1/2"

Maximum Speed:
45 m.p.h at governed r.p.m.
Of the total wartime production of 2,516, some 868 trucks left the British ports with 731 finally reaching Arkhangelsk (Huh, where in the hell is Arkhangelsk??). Reportedly, 137 were lost en route. (lost? ..........how do you lose a truck!)
