This is an illustration that I made for the Dutch upcoming Book week. It's sponsored by the NS (Dutch Railways)
The theme of the Book week is friendship. In the Netherlands it's common to write nice short poems in 'Poetry albums'. It's often little girls who own an album like that.
You give it to family and friends and have them write a small poem of friendship or love for you. It's habit to decorate your poem with 'poezie plaatjes'.
These pictures can be bought in a store are often contain old fashioned illustrations of flowers, birds, cherubs, children, little animals and butterflies.
But since the NS sponsored this book week, they wanted a Dutch train on this illustrations :)
